LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting on Saturday to review the matters of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute and Research Center project.
Human resource, medical equipment, acquiring of machinery and other affairs of the institution came under discussion during the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute & Research Center would be a state-of-the-art institution.
He said that international standard medical facilities would be available to kidney and liver patients and free treatment would be provided to the poor and deserving patients.
He said that a state-of-the-art hepatitis clinic was being set up in the institute, which would provide medical facilities by the end of current year.
Shehbaz said that the ailing humanity could be served through commitment and passion.
He directed that services of professionals and talented human resource imbued with the spirit of service to the ailing humanity should be acquired for the institution.
He said that a third-party audit of this splendid project of billions of rupees will be conducted.
He said that Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute & Research Center was an important public welfare project, which should be speedily forwarded. He said that the project should be implemented with the spirit of national service and determination.
Dr. Saeed Akhtar, President Board of Governors of PKLI, gave a briefing regarding pace of the project.
